Garage Door Panel Replacement
A damaged section can often be replaced on its own when the maker, model and color can still be matched, which we check on site.
A damaged section does not always mean a new door. If the rest of the door is sound, the springs and tracks are healthy and the model is still made, replacing one panel or the bottom section restores the shape and the seal with a fraction of the work of a full replacement. The catch is fit: sections are made for a specific model, profile and height, and hinges, struts and the weather seal must line up with the sections beside them.
We identify the make and profile from the door's label and measurements, bring a matching section, remove the damaged one with the spring tension controlled, move over the hinges and rollers or fit new ones, and install a new bottom seal. We tell you before we start if the color will not match exactly or if the model has been discontinued, because that is the point where replacing the whole door becomes the sensible answer.
Damage That Calls for a New Section
- A dent or crease from a bumper or storm debris
- A bottom section rusting from the edge upward
- A crack letting in water, sand or pests
- One section bowed while the others are straight
- Paint bubbling or flaking from corrosion underneath
- A gap along the bottom where the seal has failed
Corrosion at the Bottom Section
The bottom section takes the worst of the coast. Rain splash, sprinkler spray and wind-driven water sit against the lowest panel, and the lower edge rusts first because the zinc coating there loses to the chlorides in sea spray. A door built to a wind-load rating is tested as a complete assembly, with its hinges, tracks and reinforcing hardware in place, and the trade association's guide calls for a maker's label stating the load. That is why we match a replacement section to the door's own model and not to a look-alike: the label belongs to the whole door.

Identify the door
Make, model, profile, height and color are read from the label and measured so the section fits.
Confirm the rest is sound
Springs, cables, tracks and the other sections are inspected before we commit to a single-panel repair.
Swap the section
The damaged panel is removed with spring tension controlled and the new section is fitted with hinges, struts and rollers.
Seal and test
A fresh bottom seal goes on, then the door is balanced and cycled to confirm even travel.
